Tiffanyho lampa.. Louis vmiešal rôzne farbivá do skla a takto vznikli sklá s ojedinelým leskom. Just after the Cit des Sciences in Paris, where it has already attracted [.] more than 300,000 visitors, the exhibition [.] adapted from the book entitled "Guide. Lyberty.com's weekly/monthly splash page. (Yes, a splash page is old fashioned, but it's been a tradition here since 1999.). Kammermusikkammer. Du weißt wohl, was ich damit sagen will. Was ich Dir oft mitteilen möchte, muß ich meinem Klavier erzählen (Brief vom 3. Tytus Wojciechowski).

We have more good wireless carrier options than we've had in years, thanks to vigorous competition between the four major carriers and smaller virtual carriers like Google Fi. But some of our choices have constricted a bit: The smartphone OS marketplace is basically down to Apple's i. OS and Google's Android, and it's hard to find a really good simple voice phone nowadays. Here at PCMag, we review every smartphone released on AT& T, Sprint, T- Mobile, Verizon Wireless, and many of their sub- brands such as Boost, Cricket, and Metro. PCS. The 1. 0 in the chart above are our top picks across all of the options available right now. But what should you be looking for when buying a cell phone? Here are some key points to consider: First, Choose a Carrier. Despite all the recent hardware and mobile software innovation, your wireless service provider remains your most important decision. No matter what device you buy, it's a doorstop unless you have solid wireless coverage. Maybe you have friends and family on the same carrier that you talk to for free, and you don't want that to change with your next phone. Cpu Tweaker 2 0 Beta 2016 50Maybe you're lusting after a certain device—say, an unlocked smartphone for international travel. And of course, you want to choose a carrier that offers fair prices, and provides the best coverage in your area. These are all good reasons to put the carrier decision first. We have two major features to help you choose a carrier. For our Readers' Choice Awards, PCMag readers tell us which carriers they prefer based on coverage, call quality, device selection, and other factors. And for our Fastest Mobile Networks feature, we send drivers to 3. US cities to scope out which smartphone carriers have the best data coverage. Because each of the national carriers sells a wide variety of phones, choosing your service provider should be your first move. Here's a quick rundown of what each one offers: AT& T's strongest areas of the country are the Midwest, Southeast, Texas, and, this year, northern California. After a few struggling years, its speeds really jumped up in our 2. G evolution" markets throughout the year. G evolution isn't 5. G, but it's faster 4. G than AT& T previously had.) AT& T owns Direc. TV, so it has some pricing bundles if you're also interested in satellite TV services. Sprint has had a rocky few years. Its LTE network is improving quickly, but it's still the worst- rated carrier by our readers because of several years of network troubles. That said, if you're willing to bet on a rising star, Sprint has promotional service plans that can often be insanely cheap, especially if you're switching from another carrier. See How We Test Cell Phones. T- Mobile's fortunes have changed radically in the past few years thanks to maverick CEO John Legere and his Uncarrier plan. It's now the best rated of the "big four" carriers by our readers in the Readers' Choice Awards. In our Fastest Mobile Networks tests, it was basically neck- and- neck with Verizon on speed and reliability. New low- band spectrum has radically expanded the carrier's LTE network, so it can finally balance terrific speeds in cities with decent coverage in suburban areas. T- Mobile also has the best international roaming plan, including to Canada and Mexico. Verizon Wireless is famed for its top- notch network quality and good customer service. Its prices can be higher than the competition, but its combination of very reliable coverage and good speeds made Verizon our Fastest Mobile Networks winner this year. Verizon also has the largest 4. G LTE network in the US. US Cellular is only available in about half the country. It has a reputation for good customer service, but has been suffering recently in our surveys as readers have said its prices and LTE network quality don't match up to some of the alternatives. There is also a wild slew of virtual operators who use the big four networks, but offer lower monthly rates, cheaper international calls, or other benefits. They're usually better for lighter users and most don't have family plans. The top four carriers in our Readers' Choice poll last year were all virtual: Consumer Cellular and Cricket on AT& T, Boost Mobile on Sprint, and Google Fi, which combines Sprint, T- Mobile and U. S. Cellular. AT& T owns Cricket; Sprint owns Boost and Virgin; T- Mobile owns Metro. PCS; and Google owns Google Fi. Tracfone is another prominent virtual carrier, with spinoff brands like Straight Talk, Family Mobile, and Net. We spotlight some of our favorites in The Best Cheap Cell Phone Plans You've Never Heard Of. Locked or Unlocked? As carriers have moved to increasingly more confusing service and pricing plans, the value of unlocked phones has been rising accordingly. Unlocked phones are bought from a third- party store or directly from the manufacturer, and aren't tied to any specific carrier. Usually, you can use them with AT& T or T- Mobile. But there are a few popular unlocked phones—most notably the Samsung Galaxy S8, the. Google Pixel series, the Moto E and G series, and recent i. Phones—that work just fine on all the national and prepaid carriers. If you buy an unlocked phone, you'll be able to move it freely between compatible carriers. But even if you don't intend to ever change your carrier, unlocked phones are free of carrier bloatware and (with Android phones) often receive software and OS updates more quickly than the carrier versions do. If you want to spend around $1. Blu, Motorola and Honor all make good unlocked phones in that price range, and you can find a solid array from those three brands on Amazon. Of that group, only Motorola's phones work on Sprint and Verizon. Smartphones. As more people become accustomed to instant email, Web, music, and messaging access at all times of the day, regardless of where they are, smartphones have become almost indispensable. That said, there's plenty of variety out there—not to mention devotees of specific OS platforms. That makes sense, though; sometimes, a platform's user interface or app selection just speaks to you, and that's all there is to it. With that in mind, and at the risk of attracting flames, let's break it down as well as we can for those who aren't so fully vested. There's actually less diversity in smartphone platforms and designs than there was a few years ago. Right now, Android and i. OS are the two top smartphone platforms, both in US sales and in availability of third- party apps. The i. Phone has the best app store and the best media features. But Apple's tightly controlled ecosystem can feel stifling to some, and i. OS isn't easy to customize or modify. There's far more variety among Android handsets, and its open- source nature makes it a tweaker's dream. But it also means fragmented third- party app compatibility, occasional bugs, carrier- installed bloatware you can't remove, and scattered, often sporadic OS updates. If Android or i. OS don't speak to you, there's Microsoft's Windows Phone. We've added our favorite Windows Phone to this list, but we still can't fully recommend the entire operating system. Windows Phone in isolation has a gorgeous, easy- to- use design, and a really neat feature in Continuum, that lets you use your phone with a keyboard and big screen like it was a PC. But Windows Phone's US market share is in the low single digits, and both carriers and third- party application developers show very little enthusiasm about it now, making us concerned that it will lack support for important apps, services, and networks in the future. In terms of form factor, it's difficult to find a smartphone that isn't a solid black slab any more. The only remaining, high- quality phone with a physical keyboard is the Blackberry Key. One, which is on the list above. It's a good device, and worth choosing if the physical keyboard is important to you, but fewer and fewer people seem to consider that a 'key' feature with time. Phones are available in a wide range of sizes and shapes, to fit various sizes of hands. The i. Phone SE is perfect if you're looking for a tiny, but powerful phone. How to use micro SD card in Android Marshmallow? Ads: A guide for using micro SD card in Android Marshmallow: how to decide whether you should use micro SD card as. Clone Disk Drives with Ubuntu using dd or ddrescue. Before I start, I would like to clarify that this step by step tutorial applies not only to duplicating hard drives that have Linux OS on them. You can clone pretty much any drive. What is on the hard disk is irrelevant; it could be Windows, Mac OS, Linux, just data, etc. There have to be just a few basic things in place: The target drive should be the same size or bigger than the source disk drive. Have a Linux Live CD or a Linux bootable USB drive or some other way of booting into Linux (we will be using Ubuntu’s Live CD for this tutorial). Access to the internet. There is a presumption that you know how to install a hard drive. Making an exact copy of a hard drive (or any drive for that matter – CD, DVD, USB, etc.) is very easy and quick with Linux. One of the most popular commands on Linux to do this is dd. It is a very powerful utility that was originally developed for the UNIX operating system and is now default on every Linux distribution. It does a bit for bit copy of the data and it does not care about cylinders, partitions or files. Here is an example of a dd command that would make an exact copy of one disk to another: dd if=/dev/sda of=/dev/sdb bs=6. The bs option specifies the block size and it could be omitted, but it would speed up the process since the default block size is only 5. There are a number of other open source programs developed since dd (dd variants) that would address situations where there might be some bad drive sectors and they perform faster and more efficient than dd. Some of those are: dd_rescue, dd_rhelp and GNU ddrescue. GNU ddrescue is the one that I would recommend using if you want to clone a drive. It works both for a perfectly good drives that you would like to clone and for failed drives that you would want to recover data from. Install the new drive. The new drive should be of the same or bigger size. You might have to get the BIOS to recognize the new disk; in most cases that is not necessary. After you have put the drive in, boot into Linux from another device. An Ubuntu Live CD would be perfect for that. You can download an ISO image from here. Now you have to find out what the drives’ logical names are. Open up a terminal window: Accessories - > Terminal or Alt + F2, then type in gnome- terminal and hit Enter. In the terminal window type sudo lshw - C disk. C disk. description: ATA Disk. WDC WD4. 00. BB- 7. FJ. vendor: Western Digital. WD- WMAJA3. 48. 82. Gi. B (4. 0GB). capabilities: partitioned partitioned: dos. ATA Disk. product: ST3. A. vendor: Seagate. HS6. 3J2. C. size: 3. Gi. B (4. 0GB). capabilities: partitioned partitioned: dos. SCSI CD- ROM. physical id: 2. In my case I have two disks- disk: 0 and disk: 1. The logical name of disk: 0 is /dev/sda and the one for the second disk is /dev/sdb. Make a note of that. In your case that might be different. Identify which drive will be the source and which one the copy. There are 2 things in the above output that will help you do that- the product and the size. You can also use the command sudo fdisk - l. It will show you the hard drives and their partitions. Prepare the target drive. Now that you have identified the target drive you need to put an initial partition on it. In the terminal window you have opened execute: cfdisk - z /dev/sdb. The cfdisk program will start, then type W and then yes to confirm. This is simple enough but you could also use the GParted program that comes with Ubuntu to do the same. Install the GNU ddrescue program. Before you can install ddrescue you need to enable the Universe Software Repository. Go to System - > Administration - > Software Sources and then check the box next to “Community- maintained Open Source software (universe)“. Close the window. It will ask you to whether you want to refresh the list of software- go ahead and agree to that. After it finishes you can install ddrescue by running this in the terminal window: sudo apt- get install gddrescue. Clone the disk. Now you are ready to clone the drive by executing ddrescue. Specify the source disk first and then the target disk. You can use the - v option to be able to see the progress of the operation: sudo ddrescue - v /dev/sda /dev/sdb. Make sure you get the order of the drives right or you could overlay the old drive with the new drive and loose all the data! Depending on the size of your source drive this operation could take a couple of hours or even more. Once it finishes the new drive will be an exact copy of the old one. You can run a quick check on the file systems of the new drive: e. If the new drive is bigger than the old one you need to extend the partition(s) on it or create another one to make use of the rest of the space. The GParted program that comes with Ubuntu is ideal for this. Once you are done, remove the old drive and boot from the new disk. Credit: Ubuntu Kung Fu. Published article from the book.

Diabetes and wound healing. Pub. Med. Abstract. The effect of diabetes on wound healing is a very complex issue that continues to leave many unanswered questions. There continues to be an empiric fact that diabetic patients are at increased risk for the development of infection and impaired wound healing. The precise underlying defect(s) continue to be a focus of research; however, it is generally agreed that improved glycemic control plays a significant role in lowering the risk of wound healing complications. Diabetic patients need to pay special attention to their diabetes care in general as well as to the critical illness, wound, or ulcer that has brought them to our care. · Diabetes and wound healing. It is common to see most people twisting or turning their torso while sitting on a chair, standing or even while walking. This twisting or turning is nothing but back cracking. Apparently, this manipulative exercise offers some degree of relief from stiffness in the upper or lower back region. While most people crack their back on their own, some prefer seeking help from a chiropractor for the same. While such spinal manipulations offer some relief, they may also raise questions on long- term ill effects on health. Is Back Cracking Bad for You? Back cracking may not be bad for you, if you are doing it while stretching normally and not forming it into a habit. Going beyond your normal range of motion to do the same thing, however, may have uncertain long- term ill effects on your health. Also, if you sense pain before or after cracking your back, then this may mean that your joints are getting damaged. Note that, if you feel the need of cracking your back all the time to relieve pain or stiffness, then see a trained and licensed chiropractor or an osteopathic physician. It may be that, this activity is only worsening your back problem. What's the Cracking Sound? When you crack your back, it does not mean that you are cracking any bones. The cracking refers to a popping sound. Between each joint in the spine, there exists a fluid. When you crack your back, the fluid releases gas and this produces the popping or the cracking sound. The same goes with cracking your knuckles or neck. Is Louder the Better? Most people relate a louder popping sound to a higher degree of relaxation. This, however, is not seconded by experts. Back cracking, with or without an audible sound, works to produce relaxation. This fact is important to understand, because repeatedly cracking your back until you hear a pop, may cause severe damage to your muscles or tissues. How to Safely Crack your Back. If you do not have a chronic back problem and are otherwise healthy, then you may follow these safety guidelines to crack your back. Chair twist• While sitting straight on a chair, hold the right side of it with your left hand and twist your torso to the right. Then, hold the left side of the chair with your right hand and twist to the left. Arching the back• While sitting or standing, place your hands at the back of your head.• Interlock your fingers, slowly push your head backwards and try to bulge out your stomach by arching your spine. Try gazing at the ceiling.• Maintain this position for a few seconds, and then bend forward. Kneeling twist• Be in a kneeling position on a yoga mat or a towel.• Stretch out your arms sideways, making a "T".• Gently twist to the right, and try to touch your left foot with your right hand, and vice versa.• Even if you are not able to make a contact between your hands and feet, the exercise will still work to crack your back. Back crack with a friend• Cross your arms, touching your right shoulder with your left hand, and left shoulder with your right hand.• Ask your friend to hug you from behind while grabbing your elbows.• Have him pick you up while hugging you and ask him to push your back with his chest. You should then hear a cracking sound. Note: Do not judge the effectiveness of any of these exercises by the presence or loudness of a popping or cracking sound. Back cracking, when compared to neck cracking may be less riskier. This is because, doctors associate neck cracking to an increased risk of stroke, even when done by a chiropractor. Although the overall risk is small, it is not too small to be ignored. So, if your back is tight or stiff, then you may crack it once in a while. But it is better to avoid such manipulations with your neck. Take care! Disclaimer: The information provided in this article is solely for educating the reader. So what's the cause? Generally, tight or misaligned muscles will pull the knee cap out of alignment, explains David Reavy, director of React Physical Therapy in Chicago. Over time that imbalance can cause clicking or popping, which could be a potential problem, says Butts, "because the cartilage can become worn down and potentially lead to early onset arthritis, as well as many issues involved with deterioration of the joint."To alleviate the awkward noises and keep potential injuries at bay, try these exercises 3 times a week for maximum results. Calf Release. All exercise photos courtesy of Eun Jung Decker at React Physical Therapy. Why: Self myofascial release is a technique that helps relieve muscle tension and tightness through direct pressure. Stretching, by contrast, simply elongates the muscle. Releasing allows you to activate tight muscles that are shifting the balance of your muscle structure," says Reavy. Use this technique to release tight calf muscles and get your knee cap back on track. How: Sit with your calf on top of a tennis ball. Stack your other leg on top of it, and roll yourself up and down over the ball. Once you find a spot that's tender, stop and point your foot up and down for 3.
Repeat as needed. Hip Flexor Release. Why: "Knee pain is often caused by a misaligned hip," says Reavy, who recommends a hip flexor release to combat this. How: Tape two tennis balls together (since your hip flexor is a large muscle, you'll need something a little bigger). Lie on your stomach and place the taped balls just below your hip bone. Lean a tolerable amount of weight onto the balls. Bend the knee on the side of the release to a 9. Repeat as needed in 3. MORE: 6 Yoga Poses Anyone Can Do (Even If You Can't Touch Your Toes)IT Band Release. Why: The Illiotibial (IT) Band is a ligament that runs down the outer edge of the thigh from hip to shin. It's attached to the knee and helps stabilize and move the joint, which is why, when it's tight or inflamed, it can pull the knee cap out of alignment, says Reavy. How: Lie on the side you want to release and place a foam roller under your bottom leg, halfway between your hip and knee. Slide your leg up and down over the foam roller, moving it from the top of the knee to the base of the hip. Try to work over the more tender areas as much as you can tolerate. Repeat in 3. 0- second intervals for 2 minutes. To focus on a specific area of the IT band, locate the most tender area with the foam roller and stop. Bend your knee at a 9. Repeat the motion of bending and straightening for 1. Repeat on other tender areas of the IT band. Side Steps with Resistance Band Why: The outer quad muscle tends to be weaker than the muscle that runs along the top of your thigh, which leads to the kind of imbalance that causes your knee cap to pull out of line. The solution? Strengthen that outer muscle, says Butts. How: Pull a medium resistance band up right below your knees (not shown) and lower down into a squat (if this is uncomfortable, standing works, too), and move two steps to the right then two steps to the left, working hard to pull your legs apart and stretch the band. Repeat one 3. 0- second to 1- minute set 3 times, 3 days a week. MORE: 1. 0 Moves To Ease Tight Hips. Inner Thighs Squat. Why: Like the outer thigh, the inner thigh is also often weaker than the top part of the quad muscle. To strengthen it—and keep knee pain at bay—Reavy recommends inner thighs squats. How: Place your feet shoulder- width apart with your toes pointed out at a 4. As you begin to squat, bring your hips back as if you're trying to sit in a chair that's too far behind you. While squatting, move your knees out to the sides and go as low as you can—though no lower than a 9. Do 3 sets of 1. 5, 3 days a week. MORE: If Your Knees Hurt When You Take The Stairs, Here's What It Could Mean. Vastus Medialis Oblique (VMO) Activation. Why: Your VMO, aka the tear- drop shaped quad muscle that runs along the inside of the knee cap, is often one of the weaker muscles on the thigh, says Reavy. Again, that can pull your knee cap off track. The solution? You guessed it: Strengthen it. How: Stand in a split stance, keeping all of your weight in your front leg. Squat straight down, stopping halfway. Your front knee should stay directly over your ankle. While squatting, twist your front leg to the right, hold for 3 to 5 seconds. Release and rise up, pushing through the balls of your feet. Do 3 sets of 1. 5 on each leg, 3 days a week. New Orleans - Wikipedia. New Orleans, Louisiana. Consolidated city- parish. It is well known for its distinct French and Spanish Creole architecture, as well as its cross- cultural and multilingual heritage.[1. New Orleans is also famous for its cuisine, music (particularly as the birthplace of jazz),[1. Mardi Gras, dating to French colonial times. The city is often referred to as the "most unique"[1. United States.[1. New Orleans is located in southeastern Louisiana, and developed on both sides of the Mississippi River. The heart of the city and French Quarter is on the north side of the river as it curves through this area. The city and Orleans Parish (French: paroisse d'Orléans) are coterminous.[2. The city and parish are bounded by the parishes of St. Tammany to the north, St. Bernard to the east, Plaquemines to the south, and Jefferson to the south and west.[2. Lake Pontchartrain, part of which is included in the city limits, lies to the north and Lake Borgne lies to the east.[2. History. Names. The city is named after the Duke of Orleans, who reigned as Regent for Louis XV from 1. French colonists and strongly influenced by their European culture. It also has a number of illustrative nicknames: Crescent City alludes to the course of the Lower Mississippi River around and through the city.[2. The Big Easy was possibly[clarification needed] a reference by musicians in the early 2. French Mississippi Company, under the direction of Jean- Baptiste Le Moyne de Bienville, on land inhabited by the Chitimacha. It was named for Philippe II, Duke of Orléans, who was Regent of the Kingdom of France at the time. His title came from the French city of Orléans. The French colony was ceded to the Spanish Empire in the Treaty of Paris (1. During the American Revolutionary War, New Orleans was an important port for smuggling aid to the rebels, transporting military equipment and supplies up the Mississippi River. Bernardo de Gálvez y Madrid, Count of Gálvez successfully launched a southern campaign against the British from the city in 1. New Orleans (Spanish: Nueva Orleans) remained under Spanish control until 1. French oversight. Nearly all of the surviving 1. Vieux Carré (French Quarter) dates from the Spanish period, the most notable exception being the Old Ursuline Convent.[2. Napoleon sold Louisiana (New France) to the United States in the Louisiana Purchase in 1. Thereafter, the city grew rapidly with influxes of Americans, French, Creoles, and Africans. Later immigrants were Irish, Germans, and Italians. Major commodity crops of sugar and cotton were cultivated with slave labor on large plantations outside the city. The Haitian Revolution ended in 1. Western Hemisphere and the first republic led by black people. It had occurred over several years in what was then the French colony of Saint- Domingue. Thousands of refugees from the violent revolution, both whites and free people of color (affranchis or gens de couleur libres), arrived in New Orleans, often bringing slaves of African descent with them. While Governor Claiborne and other officials wanted to keep out additional free black men, the French Creoles wanted to increase the French- speaking population. As more refugees were allowed into the Territory of Orleans, Haitian émigrés who had first gone to Cuba also arrived.[2. Many of the white Francophones had been deported by officials in Cuba in retaliation for Bonapartist schemes in Spain.[2. Nearly 9. 0 percent of these immigrants settled in New Orleans. Navy on the river, successfully cobbled together a motley military force of: militia from Louisiana and Mississippi, including free men of color, U. S. Army regulars, a large contingent of Tennessee state militia, Kentucky riflemen, Choctaw fighters, and local privateers (the latter led by the pirate Jean Lafitte), to decisively defeat the British troops, led by Sir Edward Pakenham, in the Battle of New Orleans on January 8, 1. The armies had not learned of the Treaty of Ghent which had been signed on December 2. However, the treaty did not call for cessation of hostilities until after both governments had ratified the treaty, and the US government did not ratify it until February 1. The fighting in Louisiana had begun in December 1. January, after the Americans held off the British Navy during a ten- day siege of Fort St. Philip. (The Royal Navy went on to capture Fort Bowyer near Mobile, before the commanders received news of the peace treaty.)As a principal port, New Orleans played a major role during the antebellum era in the Atlantic slave trade. Its port also handled huge quantities of commodities for export from the interior and imported goods from other countries, which were warehoused and transferred in New Orleans to smaller vessels and distributed the length and breadth of the vast Mississippi River watershed. The river in front of the city was filled with steamboats, flatboats, and sailing ships. Despite its role in the slave trade, New Orleans at the same time had the largest and most prosperous community of free persons of color in the nation, who were often educated and middle- class property owners.[1. Dwarfing in population the other cities in the antebellum South, New Orleans had the largest slave market in the domestic slave trade, which expanded after the United States' ending of the international trade in 1. Two- thirds of the more than one million slaves brought to the Deep South arrived via the forced migration of the domestic slave trade. The money generated by the sale of slaves in the Upper South has been estimated at 1. The slaves represented half a billion dollars in property. An ancillary economy grew up around the trade in slaves—for transportation, housing and clothing, fees, etc., estimated at 1. All of this amounted to tens of billions of dollars (2. New Orleans as a prime beneficiary.[3. According to the historian Paul Lachance,“the addition of white immigrants [from Saint- Domingue] to the white creole population enabled French- speakers to remain a majority of the white population until almost 1. If a substantial proportion of free persons of color and slaves had not also spoken French, however, the Gallic community would have become a minority of the total population as early as 1. It's an idea that most of us would rather not face - that within the next century, life as we know it could come to an end. Our civilization could crumble, leaving only traces of modern human existence behind. It seems outlandish, extreme - even impossible. But according to cutting edge scientific research, it is a very real possibility. And unless we make drastic changes now, it could very well happen. Experts have a stark warning: that unless we change course, the perfect storm of population growth, dwindling resources and climate change has the potential to converge in the next century with catastrophic results.
